Why are my viburnum branches being attacked by diseases?

Our Advice:

There are several diseases that can attack viburnum branches, including powdery mildew, leaf spot, and canker. Powdery mildew can cause a white powdery coating on the branches and leaves, and it can be controlled with fungicides. Leaf spot can cause brown spots on the leaves and branches, and it can be treated with fungicides and by removing infected plant material. Canker can cause branches to die back and can be prevented by keeping the plant healthy and avoiding damage to the branches.
