Why are my viburnum branches being attacked by pests?

Our Advice:

There are several pests that can attack viburnum branches, including aphids, scale insects, and borers. Aphids can cause leaves to curl and yellow, and they can be controlled with insecticidal soap or neem oil. Scale insects can cause branches to die back, and they can be treated with horticultural oil or systemic insecticides.
