What causes blossom end rot on tomato fruits?

💡 Our Advice
Blossom end rot is a disorder rather than a disease, which is caused by a shortage of calcium and irregular watering makes matters worse. Treat the plants with calcium nitrate from Chempak at 50g in 5 litres of water, watered into the compost. This will not cure the affected fruits, but will help to protect new fruits from being damaged.
