Why has my lemon tree lost all its lower leaves?

💡 Our Advice
Citrus plants need good sunlight and long days to grow well. They often shed quite a few leaves in late winter, especially those in shade. They will produce new leaves and flowers when the days get longer in spring. Water the plant sparingly and don't be tempted to remove any bare stems. Severe pruning may kill the plant.
