Can I grow witch hazel from seed?

💡 Our Advice
Yes, but it is not easy. Bought Hamamelis seed is dried and very dormant, so it needs to be mixed with damp compost and placed in a temperature of 15c for 12 weeks, followed by 2-3c for 8 weeks before sowing the seed in trays. Place the trays outdoors and water regularly. Germination can take 1-3 years and flowering can take up to 10 years
