How do you deadhead chrysanthemums?

💡 Our Advice
Deadheading chrysanthemums is an important step in promoting continuous blooms throughout the growing season. To deadhead, remove the spent flowers by snipping them off at the base of the stem, just above a set of leaves. This prevents the plant from putting energy into producing seeds and redirects the energy towards producing new blooms. Deadheading also promotes a neat appearance and prevents the plant from becoming overgrown.
