What can I use to control woolly aphids on a crab apple tree?

Our Advice:

This aphid protects itself with fine white strands of wax, like cotton wool. Spray during dry, calm weather with Provanto Ultimate Bug Killer from Bayer. This works best when the plant is actively growing and it may take several applications.
