What causes black mould on camellia leaves?

Our Advice:

This is sooty mould caused by scale insects feeding on the underside of the leaves. Treat with Bug Clear Ultra from Scott's or Provanto Ultimate Bug Killer from Bayer. Both are systemic and kill the insects as they feed. Several sprays may be needed to kill them all.
