Why does my avocado plant shed its leaves?

Our Advice:

These plants prefer plenty of light and a fairly dry atmosphere. They often drop leaves in winter if the light level is low. Position the plant near a window and stand it on a saucer of pebbles so you can water into the pebbles and the plant can get the water it requires.
