Can I put seaweed on the garden as a manure?

Our Advice:

Seaweed provides organic matter and small amounts of nutrients, so it helps improve the soil fertility. It must be washed or soaked in tubs of fresh water before putting it on the garden to remove the salt (high salt levels are harmful). It is often used on asparagus beds.
