How do I control bacterial canker in a cherry tree?

Our Advice:

Bacterial diseases are much worse in wet weather. Prune out dead or dying branches then spray with either Bordeaux mixture from Vitax or Fruit and Vegetable Disease Control from Bayer. Treat stem cankers by painting them with paste made from Bordeaux mixture.
