How do I propagate my Hosta plants?

💡 Our Advice
Hostas can be propagated by division in spring. Dig up the existing clump and wash off as much soil as possible. Split off sections of the parent plant: each piece must have roots and a visible growth bud. Discard any old woody sections of the parent plant and replant the divisions with the growth bud just below the soil surface.
