Coffee grounds are a good source of slow release nitrogen (about 2% by volume). Also, they can also be used as a liquid feed, applied at a rate of 30 grams (1 ounce) in 4.5 litres (1gallon) of water. They can also use coffee grounds as a barrier to deter slugs and ants.
