What is causing big wart-like growth on lily bulbs?

💡 Our Advice
This is crown gall, a large, distorted growth formation which is caused by a bacterial infection. You could remove the growth but this will not necessarily get rid of the infection. It would be better to discard these bulbs rather than risk it spreading to your healthy bulbs.
