When is the best time to prune a large Mahonia?

💡 Our Advice
The best time is in spring immediately after the flowers die off. These plants can cope with hard pruning, even down by half, and should produce flowers next year. After pruning, feed with a general fertiliser like Growmore at about 4oz (100g) around the plant.
