When can I remove the lower limbs from a magnolia bush?

💡 Our Advice
These plants will often bleed lots of sap from the pruning cuts if they are pruned in late winter or early spring. The best time to prune after the plant has finished flowering. Pruning in early winter often leads to lots of vigourous water shoots developing around the pruning cuts in the following spring.
