How do I deadhead dahlias?

Our Advice:

To deadhead dahlias, wait until the flowers have faded and wilted. Using a pair of sharp scissors or pruning shears, cut the stem just above the first set of leaves below the flower. This will encourage the plant to produce more blooms and maintain a tidy appearance throughout the growing season.
