Is it safe to prune Penstemon plants now?

💡 Our Advice
Leave the tops for now, it will help protect the crown of the plant against cold weather and reduce the risk of frost damage. Wait until the new growth starts in spring before pruning. Remove old flower spikes and any shoots to be used as cuttings.
