When is the best time to prune a pot-grown hydrangea?

💡 Our Advice
Prune in spring just as it starts to shoot. Cut weak and thin shoots to compost level and remove rubbing branches. Cut back the remaining shoots by one-third to a pair of strong buds. Apply a high potash fertiliser such as tomato feed during the growing season.
