Why are the leaves on my Euphorbia curling or wilting?

Our Advice:

Curling or wilting leaves on a Euphorbia plant can be caused by various factors, including under or overwatering, improper lighting, temperature stress, pests or disease. Underwatering is a common cause of leaf curling and wilting in Euphorbias. When the soil is too dry, the plant will try to conserve moisture by curling its leaves inward or wilting. Overwatering can also cause leaf curling or wilting, as it can lead to root rot which affects the plant's ability to absorb water properly. Improper lighting can also cause leaf curling or wilting in Euphorbias. If the plant is exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures, it may curl or wilt in response to the stress. On the other hand, if the plant is not getting enough light, it may also curl or wilt as a response to stress. Temperature stress can also cause leaf curling or wilting. Euphorbias prefer warm temperatures and may struggle if exposed to cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F. Pests and diseases can also cause leaf curling or wilting in Euphorbias. Spider mites, mealybugs, and aphids are common pests that can damage the leaves and cause curling. Fungal or bacterial diseases can also cause leaf curling or wilting.
