How can I get rid of the stumps from an old conifer hedge?

💡 Our Advice
The quickest way to remove conifer tree stumps is to contact a local tree surgeon who has a stump grinding machine. This is very quick, but can be costly, depending on the work involved. There are no products available to accelerate the rotting of tree stumps but covering them with soil to let the fungus and bacteria break down the remaining wood. This normally takes up to 5 years.
