What causes brown spots in the flesh of Bramley apples?

Our Advice:

Bramleys Seedling apples are notorious for this. Called bitter pit, it is caused by calcium deficiency. Apply Garden Lime from Westland around the roots in early spring or water with calcium nitrate (Chempak Calcium Multi-action from Thompson & Morgan).
