Why did the white flowers on my hellebores turn green this year?

💡 Our Advice
Only the very centre of a hellebore bloom is actually a flower. The outer 'petals' are modified leaves called tepals and if the plant is growing in deep shade the white colouration becomes green due to lack of light.
