When is the best time to plant a laurel hedge into a clay soil?

💡 Our Advice
If you are using bare-root plants then autumn is ideal, but water the plants in dry weather. If the plants are pot-grown, spring planting is better. If you plant pot-grown plants in autumn or winter and the clay soil gets very wet, the water can collect in the planting hole and cause death by waterlogging.
